Patient confidentiality

We respect your right to privacy and keep all your health information confidential and secure.  It is important that the NHS keeps accurate and up-to-date records about your health and treatment so that those treating you can give you the best care.

Data Protection

The practice stores information on computer to prepare prescriptions, arrange appointments and recall data such as blood test, etc. We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and adhere to Caldicott Principles. This data is entirely secure and confidential. Practice staff may have access to confidential information to enable them to carry out their duties. All our staff are required to treat your information in the strictest confidence. Failure to do so can result in dismissal.

Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is available from reception.
